Featured Member: Ghermayn Baker

Ghermayn Baker is a woven furniture restoration specialist and basketweaver based in Long Beach, California. Together with his wife Christina, Ghermayn founded Point by Point Studio, a studio focusing on the restoration of cane, rattan, wicker, and other woven furniture, in 2022. A lifelong craftsman and artist with a deep love for patterns, Ghermayn’s craft is rooted in the tradition of natural materials and the exploration of woven patterns from around the world.

In Ghermayn’s words: Discovering a rich community of makers through TFS has opened my eyes to the breadth and scope of talent in the furniture space. I am grateful for TFS because it has enabled me to broaden my own perspectives and skills while at the same time refining my own commitment to the history and craft of furniture making.”
