Aspen Golann is an artist, educator & a 17th-19th century furniture maker blending iconic American furniture forms with a background in fine art & sculpture. She teaches woodworking internationally at craft schools and universities. In 2020 she founded The Chairmaker’s Toolbox, a project that provides free tools, education, and mentorship for BIPOC, gender nonconforming and female makers. She has been published in Fine Woodworking, American Craft, and Architectural Digest and has received fellowships from the Windgate Foundation, Winterthur Museum, and Center for Furniture Craftsmanship. She serves on the boards of A Workshop of Our Own, The Society of Arts + Crafts, and The Furniture Society and holds a degree in furniture making from The North Bennet Street School.
