Hayami Arakawa's aspiration was to become a Industrial Designer when he was seduced by the Wood Furniture Design program while attending the CA College of Arts and Crafts, he has been making furniture and things by hand ever since. Migrating to the East coast via Madison, WI (attending University of Wisconsin), eventually ending up in Boston, MA. Hayami has continuously worked as an educator, practitioner of furniture making and occasionally makes documentary-ish videos of his work.
