Cynthia Deis is an artist, writer, and educator dedicated to empowering fine craftspeople through comprehensive entrepreneurship training. With a background spanning wholesale, traditional retail, e-commerce, pop-up shops, and monthly art markets, she brings her broad experience to help artists and creatives establish sustainable, profitable businesses.
A graduate of The Ohio State University, Cynthia began her career teaching art across all age groups in public school classrooms in Texas, while also producing jewelry and decorative art. Her relocation to North Carolina marked a focus toward selling her jewelry wholesale through independent galleries, boutiques and major retailers. This experience deepened her understanding of the retail landscape and the unique challenges artists face in marketing their work.
Through her consulting work, she offers personalized guidance to artists, helping them navigate the complexities of building successful art and craft businesses.
She currently serves as the Education Director of Triangle ArtWorks, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing business and legal training for artists and arts organizations in North Carolina.
