Women in Woodworking: In Conversation

Makers

Thursday, Mar 12 6:00 – 7:00

In celebration of Women’s History Month, the Furniture Society in partnership with the Sam Beauford Woodworking Institute invites you to a special Women in Woodworking Panel, highlighting the voices shaping the future of the craft.

Thursday, March 12, 6 – 7pm ET

This one-hour conversation brings together women from the SBWI community to share their personal journeys into woodworking, from career pivots and creative rediscovery to professional training and life in the woodshop. Through their stories, attendees will gain insight into how hands-on education, mentorship, and community are helping define the next generation of woodworking.

Moderated by Katie Thompson, this uplifting conversation will explore how women are finding purpose, craft, and career in woodworking and how SBWI supports students at every stage of their path, whether empowering makers to build skills and confidence, or even pursuing meaningful careers in the trades.

Whether you are curious about woodworking, considering a career change, or simply interested in the creative process, this conversation offers an inspiring look at the people and programs shaping the future of craft.
