Participants will be guided through the planning process of setting up a shop. We will cover workflow/layout, machine needs/egress, tool organization, and basic electrical information. This program is a great place to start envisioning building a new shop from scratch or converting an existing space into a shop.

Our special guest, Dan Carlson, will join us for this session. Carlson will share his expertise in setting up shops in academic, industrial, and museum settings!

This program has been developed specifically for woodworkers, but all mediums are welcome. The shared information can be applied to personal, industrial, or academic shops.

The Furniture Society would like to thank the Schooner Foundation and The Bresler Foundation for supporting this initiative. Without their support, the Nuts & Bolts professional development programming and scholarships would not be possible!
