Peter Galbert

Peter Galbert is a chair maker, teacher, toolmaker and writer based in Boston, MA. After earning a BFA from the University of Illinois (1995) in Photography he moved to NYC where he began working in wood shops and fabricating art for various artists and galleries. In 1999 he began building green wood Windsor chairs and has been making chairs ever since. He published "Chairmaker's Notebook" with Lost Art Press in 2012 and in 2015 he opened the Galbert School of Craft in Rollinsford, New Hampshire. He has taught at crafts schools in the U.S. and abroad including The North Bennet Street School, The Center for Furniture Craftsmanship and the Penland School of Craft.
