Weizitong Kong

Weizitong Kong is a furni­ture and table­ware designer and maker based in New York’s Hudson Valley, with a special focus on tradi­tional Asian lacquer­ware. Born and raised in eastern China, he showed a natural talent and deep passion for paint­ing and crafts from a young age. In 2014, he moved to New York City to pursue a career in fine arts, initially working as a visual artist before tran­si­tion­ing into crafts­man­ship. Merging contem­po­rary design with tradi­tional tech­niques, Kong creates hand­crafted pieces that high­light the beauty of natural mate­ri­als, refined details, and his signa­ture forms. Now based in the Hudson Valley, his work is deeply inspired by the surround­ing land­scape, explor­ing the connec­tion between people, nature, and the every­day objects that shape our lives.
