Weizitong Kong is a furniture and tableware designer and maker based in New York’s Hudson Valley, with a special focus on traditional Asian lacquerware. Born and raised in eastern China, he showed a natural talent and deep passion for painting and crafts from a young age. In 2014, he moved to New York City to pursue a career in fine arts, initially working as a visual artist before transitioning into craftsmanship. Merging contemporary design with traditional techniques, Kong creates handcrafted pieces that highlight the beauty of natural materials, refined details, and his signature forms. Now based in the Hudson Valley, his work is deeply inspired by the surrounding landscape, exploring the connection between people, nature, and the everyday objects that shape our lives.
