- About
I have enjoyed woodworking all my life. Fifteen years ago I set aside the corporate world to build functional art furniture full time. My studio is located in the forest on the banks of the scenic Rum River in Minnesota.
I believe that inspiration can come from anywhere. I aspire, as William Blake suggested, “to see the world in a grain of sand”. Careful attention to the details in my work leads to smile producing surprises for all those who look closely.
Today, my works are known for their fluid, nature inspired designs, the use of exotic woods, stained glass, patinated copper, and inlays of brass, silver, abalone, and mother of pearl. My work is currently on display in galleries in Minneapolis, Minnesota and San Francisco, California.
Recently I assisted in the creation of Europa II- the 2009 Art Case piano for Steinway and Sons.
In addition to woodworking, I enjoy music and an “occasional” glass of wine. When the two are combined, I will argue endlessly with myself, debating the best music ever written. Today, it’s a tie between Chopin’s “Fantaisie Impromptu” and Neil Young’s “Like a Hurricane”.
