Aria Kingsley, Born 2003, is a Furniture Maker/Glass Artist from Canton, CT. Currently residing in Rochester, NY pursuing a BFA in Furniture Design and a Minor in Glass at Rochester Institute of Technology.
I use my furniture to explore themes from my childhood to better understand who I want to be as an adult. I find adult life to be bland and drained of color. I want to create a safe space for adults to reminisce and interact. I like to create moving parts and texture that allow the user to be fully immersed in the object. I use materials from my childhood such as colored pencils and paint, and pair them with wood which acts as my canvas.
