Marissa Brown
Director of Design

Marissa Brown's career has long been linked to her deep respect for craft, blending timeless design with innovation. Starting as Director of Dakota Jackson’s high-end custom furniture studio, she soon caught the eye of Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia where she served as Design Director, managing large scale production of furniture and navigating high-profile licensed partnerships. In 2018, Stickley’s CEO, recognized Marissa’s expertise in materials, process, and trends, and invited her to become their Director of Design. Since then, her work has led to award-winning collections including Park Slope and Walnut Grove.
With over eight collections at Stickley, Marissa has helped steer the 125-year-old company into the future while paying homage to history. Her designs have been recognized with Pinnacle Awards, and she was named a “Visionary Designer” by House Beautiful in 2020. In 2023, she was listed as a “Person to Watch” by Furniture Today. Marissa has also taught design at RISD and Parsons, further solidifying her influence in the field.
