Pre-Conference Tour: Stickley Museum and Factory

Led by Museum Direc­tor Amanda Clif­ford and Quality Control Manager Tom Graham, the tours will include an in-depth look at both the current factory and furni­ture museum. Initially opened in 2007, the museum explores over a century of furni­ture making excel­lence. It high­lights the inspi­ra­tion and crafts­man­ship that made Stick­ley America’s fore­most fine furni­ture maker and the crafts­peo­ple whose commit­ment to quality led to Stickley’s repu­ta­tion for manu­fac­tur­ing heir­loom quality furni­ture. The eight thou­sand square foot exhibit gallery contains furni­ture and acces­sories from the earli­est days of Stick­ley up to the present, as well as a variety of images and archival docu­ments illus­trat­ing the company’s journey.

Partic­i­pants will have the chance to go behind the scenes of Stick­ley in a way few people get to do, hearing directly from Clif­ford about the impact and legacy of the furni­ture maker, and the role the company plays in the contem­po­rary design world. They’ll also get to see the on-the-floor current manu­fac­tur­ing process, and how Stick­ley has contin­ued to produce high-quality furni­ture to this day.

Bus trans­port to and from the Stick­ley Museum is included for all partic­i­pants.
The bus will leave the Marriott Syra­cuse Down­town (100 E Onondaga St) at 9:30AM sharp on Thurs­day, June 26, and return to the hotel at 2:00pm.

This tour will not include a stop for lunch. Please plan accordingly.
