Colin Knight is a designer based in Richmond, using contemporary craft to explore new forms of object-based storytelling. He crafts historically based forms characterized by intricate and emotional components. His work adopts a multidisciplinary approach – drawing on his background in woodworking, textiles, and design. Interested in the aesthetics of old and new, he aims to create work that evokes feelings of past, present, and future using comfort as a tool to transform traumatic objects.
Recently, he was announced a 2020 Windgate-Lamar Fellow by the Center of Craft for his work in re-imagining British Mid-Century Modern.
