Making a piece is a process. Some­times samples are made to help work through ideas and designs includ­ing texture, color, or even joinery.

What do you do to work through an idea when creat­ing a piece?

Join TFS member Valerie Berlage as she helps kick off the conver­sa­tion talking about and sharing her vast collec­tion of samples that act as inspi­ra­tion for her to develop ideas and uses of patterns, textures and colors to be included in her work.

We want to see what types of samples you make. What mate­ri­als and processes do you use to texture or paint? Do you develop designs by creat­ing a scale model or maque­tte of a piece you’re think­ing of building? 

Grab those samples and join us this Thurs­day, Septem­ber 30 at 6pm eastern. It’s fun, it’s inter­ac­tive, and it’s a great way to share ideas with your peers.
