“The more work I do with Islamic geom­e­try, the more I sketch on the computer, build­ing up and tearing down designs directly in Rhino. Some­times I scan in pencil sketches or photos of the wood, some­times I print out designs and draw over them by hand. There’s a lot of back and forth.”
