Ideas for Boxes To Die For
I was drawing cremation urn forms for a 2019 exhibition at the Messler Gallery (Center for Furniture Craftsmanship, ME) titled, “Boxes to Die For”. I decided to go with the form in the right center of the page on the left. They were made of turned Ash that was bleached white.

Corrugated Patterns and Forms
I’ve been exploring the dynamics between the inherent corrugated pattern and carved or turned forms that are made with corrugated cardboard. The pattern changes dramatically as curves are introduced to the paper form.

Fred Rose Shop
Wood sketches on the shop wall. Most of the “Poem” pieces I make were based on the idea of sketching in wood, the idea of which I borrowed from the ceramics of Yun-Dong Nam when he was a visiting artist at CSULB.

Adam Manley assigned us design for distance. This is a lamp-chair that encompasses the light a lampshade would normally cover, but this design also enclosed the reader relaxing inside.

This exploration is an experiment documenting objects treasured within a past time. Combining a 3D diary with a home space will extend the free exploration of objects that are immobile without physical or virtual interaction.
