For over 70 years, RIT’s Furniture Design program has engaged students in technical, conceptual, and design development, while fostering individual creative interests. With a foundation in traditional woodworking technique and mastery, the studio-intensive curriculum also provides access to the latest technologies and supports innovative object making in all its forms.

With a fully equipped woodworking studio, individual bench space for each major, a state of the art FAB Lab, students can explore many design resources, and a wide range of studio facilities for further material exploration.
RIT offers a MFA degree in Furniture Design, as well as a Furniture Design BFA in Studio Arts, and a two year Associate’s Degree (AOS).
