Bart Niswonger

The Board of Direc­tors of The Furni­ture Society is pleased to announce that the 2022 Steffi Dotson Service Award is being given to Bart Niswonger. The award is named in honor of past Pres­i­dent Stef­fanie Dotson whose dedi­ca­tion and service during her tenure as Pres­i­dent and as a Trustee ensured The Furni­ture Society’s contin­u­ing strength and accom­plish­ments during a period of great transition.

Bart Niswonger has loyally served the Furni­ture Society for many years, as a heavily-involved commu­nity member, then board member, then Board Pres­i­dent. However, most rele­vant to this award, is the tire­less work that Bart has done for us long after the end of his Board term. Bart has contin­ued to assist with all things relat­ing to our website, online systems, and member­ship orga­ni­za­tional systems, meeting with and advis­ing us on a regular basis. Not only did Bart develop and launch our new website, but in the shift to a need for virtual plat­forms during the pandemic and with the devel­op­ment of FSCon­nects, Bart stood by us, ensur­ing that, when our only inter­ac­tion with our member­ship was digital, that inter­face and outward facing plat­form were dialed in.

Bart Niswonger has given gener­ously of his time with dedi­cated and consid­ered thought to assist The Furni­ture Society. We are lucky to have someone like Bart as a friend, colleague, and advisor. The Furni­ture Society owes Bart both a debt of grat­i­tude and the Board of Trustees is pleased to honor him for his service.

Bart’s volun­teerism will be cele­brated during the June FS22: Working Together confer­ence on Thurs­day, June 9 at 7:00 – 7:30 pm eastern . We welcome you to join this cele­bra­tion of Bart and to thank him for his contin­ued support of The Furniture Society.
