“Ideas for Boxes To Die For”. I was drawing cremation urn forms for a 2019 exhibition at the Messler Gallery (Center for Furniture Craftsmanship, ME) titled, “Boxes to Die For”. I decided to go with the form in the right center of the page on the left. They were made of turned Ash that was bleached white.
The next two images go together and they are titled, “Corrugated Patterns and Forms (II)”. I’ve been exploring the dynamics between the inherent corrugated pattern and carved or turned forms that are made with corrugated cardboard. The pattern changes dramatically as curves are introduced to the paper form.
