Tim Demuth

Tim DeMuth currently lives in San Diego, Cali­for­nia where he is an MFA candi­date at San Diego State Univer­sity. He holds a BFA in wood­work­ing and furni­ture design from Maine College of Art, as well as an AAS in marine carpen­try from The Wood Tech­nol­ogy Center in Seattle, Wash­ing­ton. With an under­stand­ing of tradi­tions in build­ing furni­ture, as well as boat­build­ing tech­niques, he is constantly looking to find a harmo­nious balance of the two skill sets. His work explores the rein­ter­pret­ing of already famil­iar forms by chal­leng­ing what can be done with the material.
