- About
Meredith’s path to the wood shop includes extensive education in design complemented with two years of hands-on skill building. She began in the architecture studio where she earned a bachelors degree and acquired a great appreciation of design’s role in the feeling of comfort and identity in a home. She has since graduated from the North Bennet Street School’s renowned furniture making program where she gained the skills necessary for building high-quality, long-lasting furniture.
Her design philosophy goes beyond form-follows-function and strives to harmonize the two aspects of a piece as much as possible. Using time-tested joinery techniques and acute attention to detail, Meredith strives to build furniture that feels natural and contemporary while honoring and incorporating traditional forms and innovations.
She currently lives in Carrboro, North Carolina and works in a cooperative woodshop in Chapel Hill.
