Matthew Hedgepath Smith is a Wood­worker and Furni­ture maker Living in Austin TX. Matthew’s first expe­ri­ence of making some­thing by hand was build­ing Surf­boards as a teenager. From there his inter­est in growing as a crafts person has led to study­ing Wooden Boat build­ing in the Pacific North­west and Fine Furni­ture Making in the North­east. The poten­tials of shop made veneer, nega­tive space and our every­day envi­ron­ment are a continual inspiration.
