Jonathan Malphrus

Jonathan Malphrus designs and builds furni­ture out of his Nashville, TN shop, focus­ing on func­tion­al­ity, trans­parency in process and crafts­man­ship, and quality in mate­ri­als and technique.

After grad­u­at­ing from Clemson Univer­sity with a degree in Ceramic and Mate­ri­als Engi­neer­ing, Jonathan pursued medical research for several years before turning his atten­tion to furni­ture. This back­ground in engi­neer­ing, manu­fac­tur­ing, and research greatly shaped his approach to design­ing, proto­typ­ing, and producing furniture.
