Shop Manager Position Miami Univer­sity

The shop manager serves as the shop steward and is respon­si­ble for over­see­ing all func­tions of the shop. Includ­ing but not limited to : moni­tor­ing, train­ing and promot­ing a safety and a safe work envi­ron­ment. Main­tain­ing the shop facil­i­ties and its tools and equip­ment. Train­ing students and faculty on the safe and proper tool tech­nique. Over­see­ing and manag­ing a staff of student workers. Main­tain­ing an oper­at­ing Budget. Purchas­ing and main­tain­ing a supply of mate­ri­als. Assist­ing students in their work and offer­ing crit­i­cal feed­back. Serve as a liaison with faculty in imple­ment­ing course peda­gogy that involves shop use.
