Jeff Lefkowitz’s generously donated tool kit is a dream for our Living Tools Project. While we believe chairmaking to be democratic and creative, some of the specialized tools can be a barrier to entry. This collection knocks that barrier down flat.
Jeff has made chairs for over 20 years and taught the craft for more than 10. During that decade teaching, Jeff parlayed what he learned from great U.S. chairmakers onto new students and budding teachers alike. This tool kit exemplifies Jeff’s breadth as a maker and instructor. It contains high-quality, well-tuned tools specific to folks looking to enter the craft, dig in a little more, or turn their skills to teaching others.
