Ideal candi­date has a passion for fine furni­ture making in a produc­tion shop, takes pride in working on world-class furni­ture while hitting dead­lines, and has an inter­est in learn­ing about all aspects of produc­tion and what differ­en­ti­ates us, plus the moti­va­tion to grow.


Final sand prep and QC pieces as they come in to you

Oil appli­ca­tion

Spray shellac sealer

Spray top coat (water­based) with / hvlp, cup guns or pressure pot

Match samples: mix stain, dyes and toners

Tone pieces to match

Expe­ri­ence with highly figured / curly species a plus

Apply water-based stains with brush, rag and spray gun

Repairs and touch ups

Bleach­ing wood to uniform tone

Polishing/​rub out finish if needed

Grain and pore fill finishes when necessary

Knowl­edge of exterior finishes

Ebonizing/​black finishes

Some distressed finishes


Prepare work accord­ing to work orders and specifications

Track and record time

Keep equip­ment oper­at­ing by follow­ing oper­at­ing instruc­tions and estab­lished proce­dures; trou­bleshoot­ing break­downs; main­tain­ing supplies; perform­ing preven­tive main­te­nance; calling for repairs.

Keep supplies ready, check­ing stock; antic­i­pat­ing needs; placing and expe­dit­ing orders; veri­fy­ing receipt; stocking items.

Control costs by conserv­ing use of equip­ment and supplies and manag­ing time efficiently.

Compen­sa­tion based on expe­ri­ence; paid hourly
