The MIAD 3d Lab has openings for year-round, full-time, benefitted 3D Lab Supervisor positions. We are looking for creative thinkers and problem solvers who enjoy learning and teaching in the context of material practices and processes. We are looking to fill these positions as soon as possible, but will continue to accept applications until the positions have been filled.

The MIAD 3D Lab is a nexus for cross-pollination in our college, a place where students marry concept with practice through education in traditional and experimental material fabrication techniques and processes. Our lab supports students at all levels, in practice areas that range from traditional and experimental studio practices including processes related to painting, printmaking, sculpture and installation, to practices rooted in design fields that include industrial design, communication design, furniture, interior architecture and design. The facility houses a full range of tools and equipment for material fabrication, forming and exploration that includes a 4x8 CNC machine, vertical mill, vacuum former, wood lathes, bandsaws, jointers, planers, mortisers, sanding machines in a variety of configurations, cabinet and sliding table saws, as well as a robust selection of powered and manual hand tools.

The 3D Lab Supervisors are the gateway to the 3D Lab for students; we train and certify all incoming MIAD students in safety, basic woodworking techniques and best practices. We also help to facilitate upper level student work and instruction in advanced woodworking and other traditional and experimental processes. As practitioners and educators, we work to support each student’s growth and development during their work and engagement with the lab. We are looking for creative thinkers and problem solvers who enjoy learning and teaching in the context of material practices and processes. We are looking to fill these positions as soon as possible, but will continue to accept applications until the positions have been filled.

The positions are year-round, full-time, benefitted positions. Please see the job posting at the link below for more detailed information on the position and application requirements.
