Furniture Society Educational Grants Program

The Furniture Society Educational Grants Program promotes excellence in the furniture field through financial scholarship assistance for professional development or for special projects of an educational nature that relate to the applicant’s career development. The program is open to all current members of the Furniture Society.

Become a Furniture Society Member

Each year, the Scholarship opportunities offered through the Furniture Society take a different form from professional development grants to special project grants to scholarships. Targeting furniture makers in the broadest sense, these varied initiatives are designed to enhance career development opportunities for Furniture Society members.


2019 Educational Grants Program Scholarship Opportunities:

Workshop Partnerships
NEW this year, the Furniture Society is pleased to announce that the Educational Grants Program will feature multi-year Workshop Partnerships with four US-based educational institutions.

The Workshop Partnership Scholarships are supported through the Educational Grants arm of The Furniture Society and provide unique educational opportunities open exclusively to currently enrolled members of The Furniture Society.

The goal of these partnerships is to promote excellence in the furniture field through professional development and supporting projects of an educational nature. Each FS Workshop Partnership Scholarship is designed to highlight an opportunity particular and unique to the partnering institution. Workshop Partnerships allow Furniture Society members the opportunity to apply for and attend workshops at the following partner institutions:

  • Anderson Ranch Arts Center
  • Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts
  • Haystack Mountain School of Crafts
  • Peters Valley School of Craft.
