Wexler Gallery is pleased to present GREGORY NANGLE: Isomorphic Imbalance, a solo exhibition featuring new work by the Philadelphia based artist. The show will run from October 2nd through November 2nd, 2015. An opening reception will take place first Friday, October 2nd, from 6:00-8:00pm. Wexler Gallery also invites the public to attend an Art Talk with Gregory Nangle, Thursday, October 15th at 6:00pm., in accordance with Design Philadelphia.
Isomorphic Imbalance will feature recent works of a variety of mediums including glass and bronze, all forged in Nangle’s foundry, Outcast Studios, in Fishtown. “Gregory brings a vision and energy to his work that is refreshing and completely unique,” added Victoria Rosenberger, Sales & Marketing Associate with Wexler Gallery. “His pieces are masterfully and expressively crafted by hand to create finishes that are both visually striking and unapologetically imperfect.”
A self-proclaimed brutalist, Nangle creates fine art and functional design pieces that celebrate the inherent and natural flaws in the materials he manipulates. Encompassing that which is crafted, hewn and made by hand, Nangle’s work adds an eccentrically human note to contemporary art and design. His work can be found in prominent collections world-wide and is continually sought after by the industry’s leading interior designers.
Challenging the traditional labels that categorize art, Wexler Gallery exhibits work that coexists in the expressive realms of design, fine art and contemporary glass and ceramics. Questioning and testing the boundaries of these fields, Wexler Gallery aims to present functional and non- functional work that consistently celebrates innovation as much as aesthetic beauty.
