- About
Blake is a woodworker living and working in Richmond, Virginia. Using hand tools mostly, he makes furniture and seating for homes and commercial spaces, including benches, chairs, blanket chests and mirrors. His influences include Shaker, Japanese and Scandinavian design; and woodworkers Paul Sellers, Sam Maloof and James Krenov. Before woodworking, Blake made fly fishing lures, or flies, commercially, eventual embarking on a Thomas J. Watson fellowship to go fishing for a year. He also worked as a reporter, writer and editor. He’s a contributing writer to Fine Woodworking.
