Blake Davis

Blake is a wood­worker living and working in Rich­mond, Virginia. Using hand tools mostly, he makes furni­ture and seating for homes and commer­cial spaces, includ­ing benches, chairs, blanket chests and mirrors. His influ­ences include Shaker, Japan­ese and Scan­di­na­vian design; and wood­work­ers Paul Sellers, Sam Maloof and James Krenov. Before wood­work­ing, Blake made fly fishing lures, or flies, commer­cially, even­tual embark­ing on a Thomas J. Watson fellow­ship to go fishing for a year. He also worked as a reporter, writer and editor. He’s a contribut­ing writer to Fine Woodworking.
