Sfirri has taught at Bucks County Community College in Newtown since 1981. He received a “Distinguished Educator Award” in 2010 by the Renwick Alliance. In 2012, Sfirri was the recipient of the “Lifetime Achievement Award” by the Collectors of Wood Art. His work is included in twenty-seven public collections. His research on the life and work of woodworker Wharton Esherick awarded him a seat on the curatorial team that organized Wharton Esherick and the Birth of the American Modern held at the University of Pennsylvania in 2010.
