Profile of Eric Wilmot

After being a Harley-Davidson dealer, I decide to let my creativity go and grow, and learn woodworking with the designer-maker David Savage in England. My goal is to create an emotional and sensory relationship, through a piece of furniture which is both beautiful, original and functional, as would do a sculpture.
I create these furniture for exhibitions, or to order for customers, inspired by their personality.
Furniture all have a story, born from the meeting with the client, and this is the spirit of this meeting which is transcribed in the cabinet, while respecting its functionality.
The furniture that I create have aerial and clean lines, highlighted by subtle details.
You often find in my work a balance between simplicity and complexity, to which is often added, like a game with gravity, a search for aesthetic balance in asymmetry and irregularity .
Wood is used as a color to enhance the form, hence the use of many different wood species.
